anybody recommend any bodyshops that will undertake the complete resoration of fire damage vehicle?

Insuarnace have said they will repair the van so looking for someone local to complete the lot.

gutted to hear about the bus mate

i battled for many years with insurance company's and dealing with assessor's that have know idea about classic vehicles as there not covered in the " thatcham's " guide which turns into a long on going fight to get paid out!

as of this most classic/aircooled shops won't deal with them and general body shops that will hav'nt got a clue what there doing :shock

the way we worked it with pauls (alf) when his was burn't out was to come to a deal with the insurance company to pay out to you & retain the salvage! that way you have the choice of rebuilding it yourself or putting the work out to a painter, trimmer, mechanic of your liking!!

You could try Phil at wizard inBedlington, he deals with insurance companies, has knowledge of VW's too, he done a great job of a Razoredge last year,he also does alot of vespa/Lambretta's.
I've used him and so have a few mates for various vehicles.
