Hi, Alright.. lets see how good you guys are cos this has me stumped. I have a 28 pict carb that sprung a bit of a leak this morning. I have included a picture for reference... The leak is coming from the throttle linkage though (see black arrow). The leak, isn't related to the throttle opening, but the choke as when i open and close the chock stepper, fuel squirts out with a bit pressure (see red arrow). This is an old carb and i am going to be rebuilding it in the next week or so but i was wondering what to be looking for. I have narrowed it down to the following: 1. Bad float 2. Blocked needle valve/jet 3. Faulty fuel cut off valve. 4. Worn throttle linkage bushings 5. Too much fuel pressure. In your opinion, which one would be most likely. It did have a replacement fuel pump however this is the short fuel pushrod type and with another carb is absolutely fine. Any suggestions would be helpful. |

Worn throttle spindle bushes... But fuel normally drips out, opposed to squirting... |

The drips are what drew my attention to it. But id definitely squirts out. haha Either way, i have a brush replacement kit on its way and a tin of carb cleaner and new gaskets. Unless you know of anyone who has a cheap 31 pict 4 carb lying about.... |
