Doesn't look too bad from that angle! Shame since the rest of the wing is good! |

Grinder out to split the channel from the floor where it's welded. Welded at the bottom, not attached to anything at the top, apart from with a bead of silicon/sealer Some bolts fell out along with the rust Brush and shovel required |

The all too familiar pile of rust from inside a knackered channel. Nothing reassures you that replacement is the right thing to like the contents of a knackered channel! Now looks like the time to brace the door |

Aye, I went along the bottom where it had been welded with hammer and chisel and released the rest, nowt much there so I stopped until I get the door braced. Checking the places where the body should lift and am I right that this patch will need removed before the body will come off? |

Yes. But more likely worth cutting along where the edge of the napoleons hat would be. Remember bracing the door is not a substitute for measure twice cut once... |

Day off today and dry so managed to get more done. Windows all out, only split one window seal/rubber so happy with that, have a spare. Also removed the fuel line running through the car, there was a bit of fuel left in it which spilt in the car so I decided no cutting inside today. Removed the bolts from the drivers side floor, no bolts in the passenger side, bugger is welded. Still chickened out of removing the wiring so it's staying. De-Windowed 30 secs with a wire brush did this, scary No bolts down the passenger side, just welded Sorry, there was one bolt there, but when I showed it the socket it fell out Kids in the street are back from school and it's getting dangerous out there, packed up for the day. |
