various bits and bobs sorted this weekend - electrics mainly working (rear lights need contacts adjusted/cleaned), door fitted etc, and door shuts painted. Door handles fitted, deck lid lock changed. Probably some other shit too, can't remember.
oh and I had a sneaky tootle around the village with it.

I've actually been working evenings this week on the bug. More little jobs done. Not much left to do before the MOT. See how I get on this weekend and might be booking it in next week!

Getting closer...

Anti-roll bar and running boards fitted, seats fitted, door cards fitted. Car road tested around the village, and it is driving well. Bad news is the windscreen wipers stopped working mid cycle - looks like the linkage has detached. Guess what I am doing tomorrow night!

Will do the carperts next weekend, along with a couple of other little things. Hopefully then will MOT the week after!








Was watched all day by lambs. In case the welsh Jimmy Saville is reading, here's a pic:

Getting there...

Last weekend finished off a few little tasks, including fitting the carpets. Fitted the number plates last night. Virtually ready for the MOT...

...however I have come to the conclusion that the alternator is buggered (thought it was just the light in the instrument panel - that was defunct too), but after a lot of testing, it's not working.

I will therefore use the 3 day weekend as a opportunity to drop the engine, finish the engine bay, refurb the tinware, clean the engine and put it all back together (along with new alternator)





Carpets are not the 100% best job, but they are tidy enough, they are only a stop gap, and they only cost a tenner (and an afternoon of fitting).

It pays to stalk the local carpet shops for offcuts. Feels like a real car now! Can't wait for saturday when I get to tinker with the engine!

People think I'm a bit sad for looking forward to working on an engine but wouldn't have it any other way!

Engine out, tidied up, painted, alternator changed, reassembled, put in car, tested. All sorted one day early.



mot time. Time to get a list of other things to do to it. Well when it is booked in.

Hadn't thought about it but yes, reading about it, it seems like a smart upgrade. Let me know what you want for it. Will it go on what I now think is a 1300 tp engine, but but could be just about anything?
